I have a “SONY BRAVIA" KDL -32L4000.

720p built-in Atsc Digital Tuner. What’s this?

HDTV with ATSC/ QAM Digital Tuner.

What does this help me with when it comes to the new dtv?

Would’ I still have to use a CONVERTED BOX to watch my channels or will I be fine without one?

Also, which will it be the best converted box to buy for this TV?

Or which tools will I need for this type of TV and the new programming?

Hi,
You will not be needing any converter box as your HDTV has got the built in Digital tuner. This is where your connect your over the air antenna when the DTV transmission takes place. I am in Canada and I don't know if it already happend or will happen on a later date in the US. For Canada I think its going to be another couple of years before the over the air channels go DTV and my HDTV is good to go as your is. So don't worry about any convert box. Relax enjoy your tv.
