PS3, LCD TV, and Surge protector?
If I plug a surge protector into the wall that has Coaxial protection for cable and plug my LCD HD TV into the wall surge protector then plug a power strip surge protector that has a switch on it into the wall surge protector(for my slim PS3, which does not have an on or an off switch so it stays in stand-by, I like to turn it off with the surge strip power switch). Will both my TV, and PS3 be protected? What if the surge strip is non-functional(its old) but I just want to use it as a switch, will the PS3 still be protected? Thanks-
It might be, it might not be!
If the surge protector is old, it might not do what it's designed to do. Today's surge protectors are covered up to a certain amount of surge. While at the same time, guaranteed to protect up to a certain cash amount. Meaning...if you're stuff is damaged by a surge while connected to the protector, the company that made the protector will reimburse you for your damaged stuff!
Unless you are covered under renters or home owners insurance, i would recommend that you invest in a good surge protector! They don't cost that much and they could potentially save your stuff!
