Buying new flatscreen television, what is best?

Hi, i'm getting a 50" flat screen and i'm curious as to a few differences i'm seeing between different ones. Can anyone tell me the differences between the following, and how significant they are:
HD-ready and full HD
Freeview and freesat
Plasma and LCD
Any additional information people could give would be greatly appreciated

For 50" I would sugggest get full HD

or if you have dark room and watching normal tv,sports,movies plasma is a good choice.Plasma have better picture quality and smoother motion than LCD and good price.Panasonic is a good brand to get.I would suggest Panasonic TX-P50G10B 50-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p Plasma TV with Freesat
