Help with mounting a flat screen on a stand?
I am getting a Sony Bravia KDL-40V4100 series 40" LCD HDTV. It may be the end of the week before I actually receive it.
We don't want to mount it on the wall (we have paneling and plaster behind that, in our living room - that gets messy). So today I purchased a tv stand that basically has two glass shelves on the front of it, and on the back of the stand, a steel support goes up and there is a swivel mount for the tv. There are the typical mount bars (one on top, one on bottom) on the rectangular mount on the stand.
The question: Will my tv come with the brackets necessary to mount this tv, or do I have to purchase them separately? Are they all universal in the way that they mount? I can't find the stand online anywhere that I purchased today. I'm planning on putting it together and just waiting on the tv to see what other hardware I will need. Any suggestions?
No, the Sony KDL-40V4100 HDTV does not come with any brackets. The mounting brackets needed to mount your TV should be supplied with the TV stand you have purchased. Every TV mount is unique, therefore, the brackets must be supplied with your stand. Every stand that I have assembled includes the brackets and a bolt kit to attach to the mounting holes of the TV. If your stand does not include the brackets, then return the stand and request a stand with the brackets.
